Transportation

To reach the camp, you must first fly to Anchorage (ANC). Many airlines fly to Anchorage, direct from major cites in the United States and many countries. You can find a list of airlines serving Anchorage here http://www.dot.state.ak.us/anc/travelerInfo/airlineInfo.shtml.

From Anchorage, you fly to Dillingham (DLG).

Two airlines fly to Dillingham, Alaska Airlines www.alaskaair.com and Penair www.penair.com. Penair is the more frequent carrier and is especially convenient if you spend some time in Anchorage, because there is no security check required for this regional airline. There is only one Alaska Air arrival and departure each day to Dillingham while there are 3 or 4 Penair flights. In any case, you can usually check your bags all the way through from your home airport to Dillingham. The following table will help your plan your flights, but these could change so please check their websites for their current schedules. Bear in mind that Alaska Air's schedule is flexible, so plan extra time between your connections at Anchorage.

When you reach Dillingham, you have several flight options to reach Portage Creek. The Air Taxi services which most frequently fly there include Bay Air (907-842-2570) and Fresh Water Adventures (907-842-5060), which can fly you directly to camp with a float plane. Van Air (907-842-4985), can fly you in to Portage Creek by wheel plane.

When landing in Portage Creek, you will have about a half-mile walk to the river beach, where we will pick you up and take you to camp.

As soon as you have your itinerary planned, please email or phone us with that information. If you have special needs, just let us know. See Packing List for packing suggestions.

We look forward to seeing you in Alaska!
